Nacogdoches Junior Forum Establishes NJF Endowment Fund

Nacogdoches Junior Forum is pleased to announce the establishment of the NJF Endowment Fund. The Nacogdoches Junior Forum Endowment Fund has been established to provide an ongoing source of financial support to NJF, to strengthen organizational stability and longevity, to fund program expansion and to provide supplemental financial resources in addition to current fundraising activities. Nacogdoches Junior Forum will support the development of the Endowment Fund with time, resources and the assistance of the active and sustainer membership and an elected Board of Directors.

“This is a project that has been in the works for several years. We believe that over time it will provide financial support for NJF services and serve as a wonderful way to honor or remember individuals in our community,” Ginger Stephens, NJF member and current chairman of the board, said.

The NJF Endowment fund is administered by a Board of Directors nominated by the NJF Board of Officers and elected by the NJF membership and comprised of both active and sustainer NJF members. The Board of Directors oversees the management, investment and distribution of the Endowment Fund. The individuals named to the first NJF Endowment Fund Board of Directors are Ginger Stephens, Chairman of the Board, Angi Hightower, Nanny Smith, Caroline Garner, Julie Stephens, Juanita Finkenburg, Angie Nichols, Susan McKee and Diana Walker.

Gifts to the endowment fund are invested and the income is used to support NJF community project grants and further enable expansion of NJF services. NJF encourages contributions to the fund, including one-time gifts, memorial/tribute gifts, estate-planning gifts, and planned gifts such as bequests. All gifts made to the NJF Endowment Fund are tax deductible according under the 501(c) 3 tax code.
“We are encouraging our members and the community to make donations to the fund in the name of someone that you’d like to honor or as a memorial gift. Our first donation was made by a member in honor of their family members instead of giving Christmas gifts,” Stephens said. “We are also hoping that people will make donations as gifts to some of our specific service areas.

If you are interested in making a donation to the NJF Endowment Fund, go to www.nacjrforum.org or call Ginger Stephens at (936) 559-8659 for more information.
